It’s a slow craft in a fast-paced world.

At Bodenhorst, we take uniqueness very seriously — one-of-a-kind, bespoke, and deeply personal. For us, it’s about creating an intimate experience with each client, crafting something truly refined and honest. We don’t believe in shortcuts, because we know the difference lies in the extra mile. That’s our promise to you — and it’s reflected in our concepts, our designs, our craftsmanship, and our materials.

Let’s take a closer look in the next few paragraphs…

CREATIVE PROCESS

Drawing and creating tailor-made concepts is at the core of our creative process. It always starts with a blank page, a first idea, a moodboard—followed by discussions and exchanges. But sometimes, a drawing isn’t enough. We need to shape it, sculpt it, build prototypes, and carry out research before we can begin the actual production.

It’s all part of the journey. Our goal is to stand out through both craft and design, while perfectly aligning each piece with your needs and desires. A well-made project is one that is both beautiful and functional—not only for today or tomorrow, but for generations to come.

Working with us takes you on a journey,

FINE CRAFTSMANSHIP

Striving for excellence is the foundation of our craft. We are only as good as our latest project, and we embrace each new challenge with passion and enthusiasm. It’s how we continue to evolve—never following trends, always staying true to our vision.

Every trunk, every case, every piece of furniture is handmade from the ground up—stitch by stitch, one plane stroke at a time. We’re proud that this dedication has been recognised: three of our craftsmen have been named Master or Expert Artisan by the Michelangelo Foundation and featured in its Homo Faber guide. Our workshop is also a founding member of Ateliers Gabriel, a national network of fine ateliers committed to excellence in craft and creation.

MATERIALS

Exotic does not always mean rare. In our workshop, we take time to explore unique materials that are innovative, durable, and sustainable—always adding value to the project. For our leathers, we work with the finest tanneries, selecting hides with character you won’t find in a catalogue. A specific grain, a colour, an origin, a scent—these subtle elements can make all the difference.

The same care is given to our woods. This is never just leather applied to wood, or wood added to leather. It’s a true blend, imagined from the start and carried through every step of the process.

And it doesn’t stop there. We are surrounded by the finest craftsmen—partners who help elevate each project. Gold- and silversmiths, artisans working with exceptional materials such as buffalo horn, tortoiseshell, feathers, etc.—each sharing the same respect for the material and a commitment to today’s ethical standards.
